Nearly 13,000 people visited the Auckland show while more than 4,200 people attended the Christchurch show, spending an estimated $2.3 million overall.
Expectant parents and parents with young children in tow came to browse an unrivalled collection of more than 300 baby and toddler related exhibitors and enjoy free entertainment and seminars.
Family-friendly features like the Parents' Room and extra-wide aisles made to accommodate hundreds of prams helped to ensure the shows were a fun, easy day out for everyone who attended (and tantrums were kept to a minimum).
But don't just take our word for it – here are some comments from a few of our happy visitors:
- "I really enjoyed it. I was expecting to go and just look around and get ideas, I walked away having bought almost everything I needed for a newborn!"
- "Great show, very well done with lots of variety. We spent a small fortune ($1400 eek!!)"
- "As a first time parent and first time visitor to the show it far exceeded my expectations and was thoroughly enjoyed by my partner, my mother and myself."
Show organiser Dona White, CEO of North Port Events, says: "It's an incredibly targeted niche market that we have got to know very well over the years we have offered this show."
"It's not easy shopping for baby products, especially if you've also got lots of littlies with you, so the whole concept is built around keeping everyone entertained, comfortable, and happy, regardless of their age. "
"We're looking forward now to 2010, when we will be offering shows in Wellington on 19 and 20 June, and in Auckland on 29 to 31 October."
